Setting up your Outlook Calender

You can use the built-in calendar in Office to manage your time, events, homework and more. Here’s how:

Step 1

In your browser, navigate to https://office.com and sign in.

Step 2

On the left-hand column, click on the Outlook icon.

Step 3

Select the calendar icon from the side panel. This opens the calendar view to add, view, edit, or delete events.

Step 4

Select a date from the small calendar preview and click the “New event” button. This will open the form to set up your event. This event can be anything you need for time management (homework due date, test, project dates, sporting events or practice, music or band rehearsals or events, drama rehearsal or performances).

Step 5

Fill out any desired fields in the window that appears and select save.

Please note the important fields:
- TITLE: what you will see as the title of the event.
- DATE / TIME: Date will fill out based on date you’ve clicked, but you can edit it here. For events that happen at a certain time, you can enter the information here. For an all-day event, click the “All day” slider.
- REPEAT: If this is something that happens repeatedly (weekly/monthly/yearly), you can have it automatically add those repeating events here.
- REMIND ME: This is important if you want reminders sent to you so you remember something is coming up. You can choose from many times prior to the event here.

Step 6

A new entry will appear on the calendar with the event you created.

Step 7

To make changes to an event, locate it on the large calendar and right mouse click on it. A menu will appear allowing you to edit or remove the selected event.
