The projector in the SWIC (Student Wellness Center and Media Center) can be used for presentations and more using your own laptop as a source. The following steps instruct on how to use it.
PLEASE NOTE: as this is a publicly-accessible site, the security code is not listed here. Please check with administration if you do not already know it.
USING THE PROJECTOR with your laptop for presentation
- Enter the security code on the touch panel next to the circulation desk
- On the controls for the projector and TVs, set the device you want to display to TIP-15
- Yes, you can display to all devices at once, or any combination. Just set the desired output devices to TIP-15
- If using the projector, please press the down arrow on the up/down slider under the word PROJECTOR. This will lower the screen.
- The HDMI plug for the system is under a floor panel near the stairs heading up to the library section. Plug your laptop HDMI output into this jack in the floor.
- As the speaker system is quite powerful, please start with your laptop system volume all the way down and test audio while slowly bringing it up. There is also an audio tab on the panel itself that controls the speaker volume for the room that will need to be adjusted accordingly.
- Once complete, power the system off, replace the floor panel, and take your items with you.
*powering off the system automatically raises the projector screen
NOTE:
You can also use other inputs besides TIP-15:
- Studio Switcher which will display the feed from the camera that sits in between the TVs
- Live Air which allows presenters to connect wirelessly to the screens. This option does require the presenter to have downloaded an app, however.
